Birdcall
Denver's own chicken sandwich, ordered from a kiosk inside the Union Station Whole Foods.
Birdcall is the Denver-founded, kiosk-ordered chicken sandwich chain, and this one has been inside the Whole Foods behind Union Station since the store opened in October 2017. It is a counter with its own seating and, unusually, a full bar, open 7am to 10pm every day: breakfast sandwiches in the morning, then the crispy chicken sandwiches, salads and the tots the chain is known for. It is fast, cheap and better than the location suggests, and it is the easiest sit-down-adjacent lunch for anyone killing an hour before a train or a game.
Why go. A good, quick chicken sandwich and a beer without leaving the grocery store next to the train.
Order at the kiosk and grab a table by the Wewatta windows; the line is shortest between 2 and 5pm.
