Kaffe Landskap
Swedish fika at the corner of the Coloradan, trains going past the windows
OpenStreetMap spells it Landscap; the sign says Landskap, Swedish for coffee and landscape. It sits at the southwest corner of the Coloradan just north of the Union Station tracks, so the window seats look straight down the rail lines. The idea is fika, the Swedish habit of stopping properly rather than taking it to go, and the menu supports that: coffee and tea, fresh juices and smoothies, pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads. Open at 6:30 on weekdays and until six every day, which is later than most coffee rooms downtown.
Why go. One of the few downtown cafes still serving real food at five in the afternoon.
Take a window seat on the track side; the A Line and the commuter trains pull out right in front of you.
