The Cooper Lounge
Balcony seats above the Great Hall, martinis at the rail
Up the stairs on Union Station's mezzanine, looking down over the Great Hall from behind a brass rail. Roughly forty seats, a jacket-optional but grown-up room, cocktails made carefully and a short menu of bites from culinary director Kevin McCormick. It is the most expensive drink in the station and the only one with that view. Reservations go through Tock and parties over eight have to call. Food service stops at 9:30 even though the bar runs later.
Why go. The best seat in Union Station, and you have to book it.
Ask for a rail seat when you book on Tock; the interior tables lose the entire point of the room.
