Mike's Bikes of Denver Downtown
Full-service bike shop a block from Union Station, open seven days
The shop opened in 2014 as Elevation Cycles and kept the address when the Mike's Bikes name went up over the door. It sits at 15th and Wynkoop, ground floor, a block off the station. Inside: road, mountain, kids and electric bikes from Cannondale, Santa Cruz, Cervelo, Giant, Gazelle and Pivot, and a service department that takes online bookings for tune-ups, suspension work and fittings. It is the closest real repair bench to the Cherry Creek and South Platte trails, which is why you regularly see somebody wheel in mid-ride with a flat tire and a bad mood.
Why go. It is the nearest full service department to the river trails when something breaks mid-ride.
Book service through their online scheduler rather than walking in, and remember Sunday closes early at 4pm.
