A5 Steakhouse
Loud, plant-filled steakhouse that treats a chophouse like a dinner party.
Culinary Creative opened A5 in November 2021 on the corner of 15th and Wazee, in the big-windowed room that used to be The Kitchen, with Max MacKissock cooking. The idea was a steakhouse without the hush: Hall and Oates on the speakers, wallpaper and plants, and prime and wagyu cuts alongside things like the bone-marrow-and-caviar starters. It has been on Michelin's recommended list two years running and Tasting Table called it Denver's best steakhouse. Executive chef is now Anthony Mills. Not cheap, but the 3:30 to 5:30 happy hour is a real one.
Why go. It is the celebration steak in LoDo that does not feel like a boardroom.
Sit at the bar for the daily 3:30–5:30 happy hour, when the burger and a few steak-frites-style plates come in well under dinner prices.
