The Capital Grille

Dry-aged steaks and a clubby room at the 14th Street end of Larimer Square.

The Capital Grille anchors the corner of Larimer Square nearest 14th Street, across from the DCPA garage, and does the Darden fine-dining formula well: dry-aged steaks, a long wine list, dark wood, and lunch on weekdays, which is rare on this block. It is a business-lunch and pre-theater room as much as a dinner one. Tripadvisor has it near the top of Denver restaurants on volume of steady, unremarkable praise, which is a fair summary. Reservations are easy on OpenTable and it handles large parties.

Why go. A weekday steak lunch or a pre-show dinner on Larimer Square with no surprises.

Weekday lunch is the calm, cheaper way in; it is a five-minute walk to the DCPA for a 7:30 curtain.
