Osteria Marco

Frank Bonanno's basement pizzeria on Larimer Square, house burrata and all.

Osteria Marco opened in October 2007 in the basement of a Larimer Square building, named for the younger Bonanno son and meant as the casual little brother to Luca. It has outlasted most of the block. You walk down a staircase into a brick room for house-made mozzarella and burrata, hand-tossed pizzas, fresh pasta and a short Italian wine list; there are also tables up on the square. Sunday hosts a bottomless drag bingo brunch. Weekday happy hour from 3 to 5pm keeps a few five-dollar bites on the board.

Why go. A pizza and burrata lunch or early dinner on Larimer Square that does not cost Larimer Square money.

Ask for the burrata plate first; the 3–5pm weekday happy hour and the sidewalk tables are the best value on the block.
