Millennium Bridge

Where 16th Street ends behind Union Station, a 200-foot white steel mast leans over the railroad tracks: the Millennium Bridge, opened in 2002 as the world's first cable-stayed bridge built with post-tensioned construction. It carries pedestrians and bikes 130 feet over the tracks from the Wewatta side to Commons Park, and from there the Highland Bridge over the Platte continues the same line into LoHi, which is why locals treat the three bridges as one walk from downtown to Platte Street. Glass elevators at both ends make it accessible. The deck is the standard photo spot for the skyline and the mast at sunset, and it is lit at night.
Why go. The best five-minute walk in Denver, and the way to reach the river and LoHi on foot.
Walk it at dusk toward downtown for the skyline; if the wind is up, hold your hat, and use the elevator with a stroller.
