Marco's Coal-Fired

Colorado's first VPN-certified Neapolitan pizza, in the Ballpark since 2008.

Marco's opened at 21st and Larimer in 2008 and was the first pizzeria in Colorado certified by the Verace Pizza Napoletana association, the Naples body that polices dough, ovens and tomatoes. It still runs on those rules for its Neapolitan pies and adds a coal-fired New York-style oven for thicker, more loaded pizzas. The room is casual, the Michelin Guide lists it, and it is four blocks from the Coors Field gates, so it fills before first pitch. There is a second location in Englewood.

Why go. The most serious pizza within walking distance of Coors Field.

Order a Neapolitan margherita to judge it fairly; on game days go before 5pm or after first pitch.
