Machete Tequila + Tacos
Loud, margarita-forward taco bar directly across from Union Station.
Machete started in Cherry Creek in 2011 and opened this Union Station branch across Wynkoop from the train hall in 2014. It is a taco bar first: Mexico City style street tacos, quesabirria, ceviche, and a long tequila list built to move margaritas at volume. The room gets loud after work and stays loud on game nights, which is the point. There is a 3.5 percent equitable pay surcharge on every check, stated on the website, and no reservations Thursday through Saturday unless you are a group of ten or more.
Why go. It is the easiest place to feed a group tacos and margaritas within sight of Union Station.
Come for the 2–5pm weekday happy hour; on Rockies nights expect a wait and no reservations.
