Clock Tower Events
Self-guided climb up Denver's first skyscraper, finished in 1911, for the view.
The Daniels & Fisher tower went up in 1911 as the tall piece of a department store; the store came down during urban renewal and the tower was spared, which is why a lone campanile now stands in the middle of 16th Street. The upper floors are rented for weddings and parties, but on weekday mornings you can buy a self-guided tour, climb through the works and stand at the observation level looking west at the Front Range through the clock faces. There is a photo booth. It takes about forty minutes and it is the cheapest downtown view going.
Why go. The only clock tower in Denver you can go up inside.
Tours run Monday through Thursday mornings and stop at 4; by Friday the tower is usually booked for private events.
