Mysore-style Ashtanga shala · $$ · since 2014

Ashtanga Yoga Denver

The traditional Mysore room ten minutes up Larimer from the ballpark.

Ashtanga Yoga Denver teaches the practice the old way, in a quiet unheated room at 25th and Larimer where students arrive inside a morning window and work through the sequence at their own pace while a teacher moves around the room. Both teachers are Level 2 authorized in Mysore, India, which is unusual for a city this size. Beginners start with the Saturday 11am Intro class. Mats and props are provided, and street parking is easy at 6am. Around here we call it the edge of LoDo; the studio calls it RiNo. Both are right.

Why go. A morning practice that has run every day for a decade, a short walk from Coors Field.

Check ayd.yoga before you go: the shala closes on new- and full-moon days.
