Empower Field at Mile High

Empower Field opened in 2001 next to the site of the old Mile High Stadium and holds about 76,000 for the Broncos, plus stadium concerts in summer. It is a mile from Union Station across the Platte and I-25, walkable in twenty-five minutes over the Highland and 15th Street bridges or a short ride on the W Line to its own station. On home Sundays the entire LoDo bar district runs as its pregame, which is why it is on our calendar even though it is outside our frame. The Broncos have said they intend to move to a new stadium at Burnham Yard around 2031, so this building's days are numbered but not short.

Why go. Broncos Sundays, and the occasional stadium tour, from a downtown that empties toward it.

Take the light rail from Union Station or walk over the bridges; do not drive from LoDo on game day.
